Accounting and Human Resource Intern
Job Purpose
Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording and entering transactions to determine or maintain record of financial activities within our organization.
Description of Duties and Tasks
Handle data and processes within generally accepted accounting principles/guidelines.
Manage accounting responsibilities assigned in a timely high-quality manner.
Learn to research in accounting systems/data to answer financial questions.
Prepare reconciliations of accounts assigned to you to ensure their accuracy.
Help document accounting processes as well as learn accounting tasks.
The intern will be responsible for tracking tasks, managing the tasks assigned to them and ensuring there is proper updated documentation for their tasks.
Assist with policy and procedures documentation.
Coordinate and assist with company morale event planning and execution.
The intern will participate in meetings as needed, assist others on the Accounting and HR Team as needed with duties as they arise some requiring a high level of confidentiality as well as urgency.
Skills and Qualifications
REQUIRED
Classes completed in Accounting or Finance.
Deadline-oriented
Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
General math skills
Strong communication skills (including written/email and verbal)
Computer literacy
Drive and capability to learn accounting software/system, QuickBooks.
High level of accountability and ability to prioritize time as the position will be very deadline-driven.
Copy of non-official transcript.
Preferred
Working towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Base knowledge of accounting and finance principles and procedures
Microsoft Excel familiarity
Availability to work 4-hour blocks 2 days a week at minimum.
