Botlink Receives Four Year Nationwide Waiver for Operations Over People
Botlink included in small group of initial companies to receive this designation from the FAA
Fargo, ND, August 6, 2020: Botlink is excited to announce that it has received a nationwide waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct drone operations over people (OOP). Current FAA regulations do not allow for drone operations over people unless the individual is a direct participant in the small unmanned aircraft operations or located under a protective structure. Botlink’s operations over people waiver application demonstrated a considerable focus on ensuring the safety of the public during operations.
Botlink received waivers for operations over people in the past for much shorter time frames, supporting targeted activities. This broad four-year waiver gives Botlink the flexibility to quickly support our commercial customers.

All operations performed by Botlink under this waiver adhere to rigorous safety protocols, including using a flight-certified visual observer on the ground to assist the pilot-in-command, following detailed operation plans and procedures, and only flying a drone with an integrated parachute system.
